Members of the public will have a chance this month to hear from one of the Tulsa region's leading voices for the arts.

Ken Busby, executive director of the Arts and Humanities Council of Tulsa, will discuss “Why the Arts Matter in Community Development” as part of the Exploring the Arts Series presented by the Jenks Arts Council.

In his 12 years as executive director of AHCT, Busby has overseen tremendous growth in the downtown Tulsa arts community and continues to be a leading voice for the arts in Oklahoma and beyond.

Busby's presentation will begin at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 20 in the Jenks High School Planetarium, 205 E. B Street.

The planetarium is on the third floor of the Dr. Kirby A. Lehman Center for the Study of Mathematics and Science.

All Exploring the Arts lectures are free and open to the public as part of the Jenks Arts Council mission to broaden awareness about the arts in the community.

February's lecture is presented by GS Helms and Associates.
