Event Description:
A panel of leaders in local arts education will come together Oct. 2 to discuss the role of art education in today’s society as the national focus continues to turn toward science, technology, engineering and math.
The panel will feature Oklahoma Teacher of the Year nominee Romney Nesbitt, an art teacher at Jenks West Intermediate, alongside Jenks High School film instructor Clifton Raphael and Sharon Felty, Fulbright scholar and music teacher at Jenks East Elementary.
Audience members will have an opportunity to ask questions for the panel after the presentation.
The event will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the Jenks High School Math and Science Building at 205 E. B St.
The panel is free and open to the public as part of the Exploring the Arts lecture series, sponsored by the Jenks Arts Advisory Council.
