Independence Day in Jenks, America
Jenks, America will be hopping with activity on Independence Day.
According to Jenks Chamber of Commerce President Josh Driskell, there will be activities across the community all day.
“We have two exciting events happening July 4,” he said. “In downtown Jenks, we will have the Jenks America Freedom Fest from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sooner Boomfest at Los Cabos and RiverWalk all day.”
Driskell said the Freedom Fest, in its second year, will feature live music, family-friendly activities and shopping from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Main Street. Sooner Boomfest, one of the state's largest fireworks shows will occur at RiverWalk with Los Cabos having all-day entertainment. The fireworks show will begin at dark.
In addition to those events, the Oklahoma Aquarium will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The Aquarium will re-open at 6:30 p.m. with half-priced admission. Exhibits will be open until dark and paid admission will allow attendees to watch the fireworks show from the Aquarium's back lawn.
The aquarium cafe will also be open during the evening.
Driskell said the full slate of activities will be posted on the chamber's website, jenkschamber.com, and will be updated as Independence Day nears.
