Long-time Jenks leader Randy Ewing has been chosen for the 2014 class of the Oklahoma Hall of Fame for City and Town Officials.

Ewing, who serves as central services director, has served Jenks for 33 years. He was city manager from 1981-2007.

He will be inducted Sept. 25 at a ceremony and banquet during the Oklahoma Municipal League annual conference in Oklahoma City.

Ewing will become the 47th inductee into the Hall of Fame, which recognizes individuals for outstanding achievements or contributions to a city and town government. To be selected, an honoree must make significant contributions to Oklahoma local government, through their positive spirit of public service, with unquestioned ethics.

“Ewing is noted for introducing and shepherding various pieces of state legislation to improve public works and purchasing operations of cities and towns; and in adopting a biennial budgeting process,” said Chuck Smith, president of the Oklahoma Hall of Fame for City and Town Officials.
